Patriotic Tin Can Windsock

by Angela Thayer 5 Comments

Today I'm sharing how to make an adorable tin can windsock! It would be a cute decoration for the 4th of July! First, rinse out a tin can. Then spray paint it blue. At first, I added start stickers before painting it but found it didn't work out as well. So I recommend waiting to add stickers until the paint has dried. After the paint has dried, add some star stickers! Next, cut 15-20 pieces of ribbon. Attach them to the can using a hot glue gun. (Don't have your child do this unless … [Read more...]

American flag parade bag - solution for carrying parade goodies

This week we'll celebrate the 4th of July! We have a tradition of going to our city's parade and it's so fun! Of course, they pass out little goodies and prizes during the parade. We usually just bring a plastic bag to the parades to carry everything, but since we're trying to eliminate plastic in our lives I thought of a new idea for carrying our goodies. We made a simple American flag parade bag and I love it! Materials for the American Flag Parade Bag: 2 pieces of paper (card stock … [Read more...]

Fingerprint Valentine’s Day Craft

by Rachael Alley Leave a Comment

Every holiday has decorations, because who doesn’t love them?! I finally got around to putting away the Christmas bins and realized that Valentine’s Day was coming soon and with last year’s purge we got rid of most our old decorations. That left me with candles and some kids craft packets for Valentine’s Day. With the kids getting older I thought what a great way for the kids to get involved; we were going to do DIY Valentine’s Décor! Sure, paint or beads might have ended up on the floor, and … [Read more...]

Melting Snowman Craft

by Angela Thayer 19 Comments

We're having unseasonably warm temperatures this winter, which inspired me to create this melting snowman craft. I mean, if we did have any snow right now, this is what would a snowman would look like!  This craft is so cute and easy to make! We used our homemade puffy paint recipe, which dries puffy and makes this craft look unique! Here's what you need: 1.5 cups of shaving cream (The best kind is Barbasol - off brands make the puffy paint not work as well) 1/2 cup Elmer's white … [Read more...]

These homemade Halloween treat holders turned out so cute and they would be great for a fall party or just a fun craft at home! I'm going to share four treat holder ideas. Love You to the Moon and Back Card

by Angela Thayer Leave a Comment

I think it's so special when kids make homemade cards for loved ones. This Love You to the Moon and Back card is perfect for Father's Day, Grandparent's Day, or any day of the year! We've always said this saying to our kids, so it's nostalgic for me. I had fun creating this one. In fact, I decided to create the rocket clip art on my own. (I typically buy clip art, but this time I made my own!) This card 3-D because the rocket pops out a little. I'll show you the steps on how to make this, … [Read more...]
