Scavenger Hunt in a Box

by Angela Thayer Leave a Comment

Happy fall! This is my absolute favorite time of the year! It's just starting to feel like fall in Iowa and we had so much fun enjoying the beautiful weather this past weekend. It made me think of an idea for a scavenger hunt in a box for little ones. A few weeks ago, I shared my fall sensory scavenger hunt checklist, but this activity would be easier for younger children. Everything is added to a box and they don't need to check off what they find. Materials for Scavenger Hunt in a … [Read more...]

Toddler Tuesday: Sticky Tree Activity

by Angela Thayer 13 Comments

This sticky tree is great for fall, but could be used any time of the year. For this activity, I took a long piece of clear contact paperand stuck it to our back door window using these Scotch Restickable Shapes. Then I drew a tree using permanent marker onto the sticky side of the contact paper. My first idea was to give my 2-year-old fake leaves, acorns, and foam apples. However, we quickly realized that they were too heavy and did not stick on. So, I got out some puff balls and decorated the … [Read more...]

Fall Scavenger Hunt

by Angela Thayer Leave a Comment

fall scavenger hunt

A fun way to celebrate fall is to go on a fall scavenger hunt. It's a good way to soak in the sights, smells, and sounds of fall. It also helps you slow down and appreciate the season. It's my favorite season of all but always seems to go by too quickly. This printable is designed to use three senses: eyes for sight, nose for smell, and ears for hearing. The first page is all about sight. The goal is to find all 10 items as you go for a walk or look around your neighborhood. The … [Read more...]
