It seems that more teachers and schools are moving to digital resources during this time of school closures. Many parents don't have printers, so digital resources are a great way to implement learning at home without paper! I've been learning more about creating resources using Google Slides and Seesaw and it's so fun! Last week, I created some counting activities for numbers 0-10. Today I'm sharing counting activities for numbers 11-20! This resource focuses on numbers 11-20. If you're … [Read more...]

Snap Cube Number Sheets
Disclosure: This post contains an affiliate link to Amazon. See my disclosure for more details. Preschoolers learn best when they do hands-on activities. When you're teaching children numbers, they need to use manipulatives to help them understand what numbers are and what they mean. One of my favorite math manipulatives is snap cubes or Unifix® cubes. Not only are these great for working on counting and one-to-one correspondence, but they are wonderful for fine motor practice. Today I'm … [Read more...]

Number Formation Practice Sheets
It's so exciting to watch a child learn to write! Just like reading, writing takes time and practice. It's not a skill that's developed overnight. Children have to practice fine motor skills to build up hand strength, learn how to hold a writing utensil, and learn the formation of letters and numbers. In my experience, older preschoolers or kindergarteners are at a good stage for learning to write. I love using my number rhymes to teach how to write numbers! I've written rhymes for … [Read more...]

Activities for Numbers 11-20
The numbers 11- 20 are tricky for kids to learn. In fact, my kids have both thought there was a number called "eleventeen"! I've had several requests to share some activities for numbers 11 through 20, so today I'm sharing a couple! First up is the Number Spin. I created this from a toilet paper roll. I painted it orange with acrylc paint. Then I took a a piece of card stock paper and wrote the numbers 0-9 on it. I also drew lines in between the numbers (which you'll see below.). After the … [Read more...]
Learning Numbers with Balloons
We were playing with balloons the other day and I thought we'd try an activity out I saw on Pinterest. I took balloons and numbered them 1-10 with a Sharpie. Then I hid them around the house when Troy was taking his nap When he woke up, I explained to him that he needed to find 10 balloons with numbers on them. The only rule was that he had to start with #1 and had to find the balloons in order. For example, if he found #8, he had to leave it there until he was ready to find that … [Read more...]
