Pom Pom Drop with PVC Pipes
If you have a toddler, I guarantee you have days where you need something to keep them busy! When I wrote the post 20 Ways to Keep Toddlers Busy, I saw how many of you need ideas for keeping toddlers occupied. In the past, I’ve shared with you a simple pom pom drop you can put together in a few minutes. Today’s Pom Pom Drop activity is used with PVC pipes. Although it takes a little time more time to set it up, it will stay together better!
You can make your pom pom drop however you’d like, but if you want to make it like mine, you can follow these instructions.
Gather these materials:
- 4 – 1-inch PVC Slip Elbow
- 1 – 1″ x 1″ x 3/4″ Slip Socket
- pegboard (I got mine at Lowe’s for $6)
- pom poms
- zip ties or hot glue gun
If you want two sections, just double the number of PVC pipes you buy.
Lay the PVC pipes in this order:
- slip socket
- elbow facing right
- elbow facing left
- elbow facing right
- elbow facing left
Then either use a hot glue gun to stick them to the pegboard, or tie them on with zip ties. I did a little mixture of both. 🙂
My two youngest boys (1.5 and 4.5) loved playing with it! It was fun for them to race pom poms in the two sets of pipes.
I don’t know what it is, but they stayed pretty occupied playing with this! It’s also a nice, quiet activity.
We keep a large jar of pom poms by the board and Lincoln is great about putting the pom poms away. 🙂
If you do this activity with your child, please make sure they are at an age where they do not put items in their mouths. I’ve been very lucky to have children who don’t put items in their mouths, but I still keep a close watch on my them.
Hope you’ll try this out!
