Why Use Toilet Paper Rolls
Toilet paper rolls are awesome for crafts! They’re something everyone has at home, and instead of tossing them, why not turn them into fun projects? Using them is a super easy way to get creative without spending a dime. Plus, it’s great for the planet because you’re recycling while having fun. I have a habit of saving all my toilet paper rolls so I have them when I want to use them for a craft!
Materials Needed
For this craft, you will need the following:
- toilet paper roll
- small bowl
- green paint
- white cardstock paper
- brown construction paper
- glue
- pencil
- scissors
- confetti
- sparkly pom pom
Directions
Begin by cutting a tree stump out of the construction paper. Then glue it to the bottom of the white card stock paper.
Pour a small amount of green craft paint into the bowl.
Dip the bottom of the toilet paper roll into the green paint. Press the toilet paper roll down on the paper.
You can start on the bottom and work your way up. Start with 5 circles, then on the way up, paint 4, then 3, then 2, then 1.
After you have the tree shape, overlap the paint and fill in the tree with more green circles.
It should look something like this.
Place glue dots around the tree. Then place a confetti dot on top of each dot of glue (to represent an ornament.)
Glue a white or yellow pom pom to the top of the tree.
I mean, how cute is this tree?!! You could display this on a bulletin board in your classroom or the hallway, keep in your student’s portfolio, or send home for a keepsake or present.
