Snowflake Busy Bag {Free Printable}

by Angela Thayer 2 Comments

Today I’m sharing another fun winter busy bag…it’s our Snowflake Busy Bag! Busy bags are so wonderful if you need a quick activity to keep your little ones busy and quiet. Prepping several busy bags ahead of time can be a huge lifesaver! This one is easy to prep and fun for kids.

Here’s what you need:

  • wide popsicle sticks
  • white/silver paint (optional)
  • Snowflake Busy Bag Printable
  • Ziploc bag

I painted my popsicle sticks a light silver to look like the color of snowflakes. (I was out of white paint and I thought the shimmer in this color was neat!) You don’t have to paint the popsicle sticks, but it does make them look more like the color of snowflakes. After the paint dries, add them to a Ziploc bag along with the snowflake printables. Then your busy bag is ready to go for when you need it!

For the activity, have the child trace the white sticks to the snowflake design. They can  do this by simply placing the sticks on the on the snowflake until it all filled in.

Since the lines on popsicle sticks are straight, these are are straight-lined snowflakes. Some are a bit more abstract, but it’s still fun! 🙂

You could also try putting round velcro tabs on the ends and middle of each stick if you want them to stick to each other. This is a great busy bag for working on fine motor skills.
