Winter Slime

by Angela Thayer Leave a Comment

Winter is the time of year where we spend more time indoors in the Midwest! Yes, we love to play in the snow and go sledding, but we do have a lot of bitterly cold days where we need indoor activities. We love to make slime on those days! I’m excited to share my favorite winter slime recipe with you. It’s super easy to make and your kids will love it!

winter slime recipe

Materials for Winter Slime

  • One 6oz bottle Elmer’s Clear Glue
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup warm water, as needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2-3 Tablespoons contact solution containing boric acid
  • Snowflake Glitter, as desired

How to Make Winter Slime

1. Pour the glue into a medium-sized bowl.

2. Use a fork to stir in 1/4 cup warm water.

3. Stir in baking soda and 2 Tablespoons of contact solution and stir well for 2 minutes.

4. Test the slime and add more water if too stiff, more contact solution if too sticky.

5. Continue stirring until the slime forms into a ball, then knead for 2 minutes, adding more water or contact solution, as needed.

6. Once the slime is stretchy and no longer sticky, knead in the glitter.

Then it’s time to play with it! You could make it a Frozen themed slime, too!

It’s so stretchy and inviting for kids to play with!

I hope you’ll give it a try!
