Voice Level Posters
One of the trickiest parts of classroom management is helping young learners understand when and how loud to use their voices. That’s why I created these Classroom Voice Level Poster. These simple visual aids teach and reinforce appropriate voice levels throughout the school day.
These posters are great for helping kids understand the difference between a whisper voice, a classroom voice, and a playground voice (and everything in between!). Whether you’re working with preschoolers or early elementary students, these visual cues can be a game-changer for keeping your classroom calm, respectful, and productive.

Two Options
I created two options for these posters:
- All-on-One Poster – This takes up less space and is [erfect for displaying on a classroom wall as a reference chart.
- Half-Page Posters – Cut each page in half and paste the 6 pages together to make a poster to hang on the wall.

Each level is color-coded with a picture, making it easy for even non-readers to follow along. Here’s a quick breakdown of the voice levels:
- 0 – Silent
- 1 – Whisper
- 2 – Normal voice
- 3 – Speaker voice (for presentations)
- 4 – Outside voice

These posters pair perfectly with my Carpet Sitting Positions Posters, which help kids learn how to sit appropriately during group time. Together, these visual tools create a more structured and supportive classroom environment.
Tips for Using Voice Level Posters:
- Introduce each level during your first week of school routines.
- Refer to them during transitions to set expectations.
- Add clothespins or sliders for a more interactive display.
- Use the half-page versions in small groups or as desk reminders.
