The Cutest Rudolph Ornament
Looking for a fun and easy holiday craft to make with kids? This adorable Rudolph ornament is perfect for decorating your Christmas tree or giving as a handmade gift! Using simple materials, kids can create their own Rudolph ornament to hang proudly.
While I was walking around Hobby Lobby last week, my eye spotted these light bulb ornaments and I knew they would look adorable as a Rudolph ornament!
Supplies Needed
Here’s what you will need for this ornament craft:
- Small light bulb ornament (I found mine in a pack of 10 at Hobby Lobby!)
- Brown sand or craft filler (to fill the bottle)
- Funnel
- Small red pom-pom (for the nose)
- Sticker googly eyes
- Brown pipe cleaners (for the antlers)
- Hot glue gun (for adults)
- Red ribbon or string (to hang the ornament)
Preparing the Craft
I recommend using a hot glue gun to attach the red pom pom to the light bulb before starting the craft with kids. You can choose to do this part with kids if you use a glue dot or something similar.
Craft Directions
Begin by filling the light built with brown sand. To make it easier, use a funnel to pour the sand in. Then screw on the lid. If you’re worried about the lid opening up, you can add hot glue around the lid.
After it’s filled, add the sticker googly eyes. I recommend stickers because you don’t have to wait for glue to dry!
To make the antlers, you will need to cut 1 pipe cleaner into three sections. Cut one long piece and two smaller pieces.
Wrap the long piece around the lid. Twist it to secure it in place.
Then wrap the small pieces on both ends to make it look like antlers!
You can shape the pipe cleaner to look more like antlers by bending and spreading the ends.
Lastly, loop a red ribbon through the bottle’s lid or around the neck of the bottle to serve as the hanger. Tie a knot or bow at the top, leaving enough length to hang on the tree.
Now your reindeer ornament is ready to hang on the tree!
I’m obsessed with how cute this Rudolph ornament is!! Wouldn’t this make an adorable Christmas gift for a loved one? And it would also be a great keepsake!
Additional Tips
- Experiment with different colors of sand or filler to create unique looks.
- Use larger bottles for a bigger ornament, or smaller ones if you want to make a few.
- Write the child’s name and the year on the back of the ornament.
My last tip is to add this ornament to this Reindeer Paper Bag Craft! It will be simply the cutest!
This reindeer ornament is a great way for kids to get creative and add a personal touch to holiday decorations. Plus, it’s a fun keepsake they’ll remember each year!
