I was just wondering did you add Oil to the water? It looks so much fun, kids around me are going to love it.

Hello! I did not use oil. Just water!

I am SO GLAD I saw this just now…I have a TON of rainbow loom rubber bands set aside for my next garage sale! Not anymore! BTW, I find Voss bottles at Albertson’s here in SoCal…usually in the water aisle on the top shelf. I have made several sensory bottles, and this one will soon be added to my collection! Thank you from a new follower!!

  3. I love this! My niece and I used some of her loom bands to make one for my baby. I found that adding some glycerine to the water kept the bands swirling for longer, and allowed my niece to make a loom band tornado by twirling the bottle just so.

    1. Angela Thayer says:

I just put tap water in the bottle. You could definitely try baby oil with water!

  9. Great idea. Am thinking of making one for a boy I work with as he loves looking at things that float and move.

  10. I’ve made these with many different things. Instead of buying a special bottle you can recycle soda or juice bottles. Any clear plastic container you can glue the lid on and a kid can handle will work.

    1. Angela Thayer says:

Yes, you definitely can use other bottles!! Thanks for sharing your ideas, Stefanie.

  11. Can anyone please say where we gt these kinds of bottle?

    1. Angela Thayer says:

We’ve found the plastic Voss bottles at grocery stores, gas stations, Walgreens, and TJ Maxx. They are hard to find on Amazon. I can only find the glass bottles on Amazon, which is why I don’t link to them. Hope that helps!

      1. Ginni Cronin says:

A lot of grocery stores sell VOSS water in the water aisle. It’s expensive if you are making them for more than one child so I would suggest you drink the VOSS water and fill it with tap water.

You can find them at the gas station and some grocery stores. I never heard of the brand until my sister told me about it.

    3. I got a similar bottle for under $2 at Michaels.

This is a simple and great idea. I love it when the simplest ideas turn out to be the best.
