I truly understand the concerns going back to school with all the uncertainty that we are facing. As a teacher, and a parent, I have the same concerns that many of you have. If you feel that sending your child to school at this time is not a risk that you would like to take, please look to see if your school district is providing a virtual learning option. This option allows you to home school your child without the expense and frustration of doing this on your own. You will have access to a highly qualified teacher and the curriculum is set up for your states standards of learning. It is a win-win situation for all. As a teacher, I look at ways to bring fun and exciting material to the classroom and often find them at Teachingmama.org.

If you are new to homeschooling or have been doing it for a while, still look into your public school’s options for learning at this time. They are there to support you and your child. I am praying for a quick recovery of this scary time in our lives.

  4. Thank You! Former public school teacher embarking on our first year of homeschooling!
