Disguise the Turkey – Coloring Pages
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and that means it’s time for some fun, festive, and educational activities to get your students in the holiday spirit! One of my all-time favorites is the Disguise the Turkey activity, where students use their imaginations to “rescue” a turkey from becoming Thanksgiving dinner by disguising it as something else. It’s a perfect blend of creativity, humor, and art that students of all ages can enjoy.
There are many types of Disguise the Turkey activities, but today I’m sharing simple coloring pages that are free!
What is the Disguise the Turkey Activity?
The concept is simple: students are given a picture of a turkey and their mission is to disguise it so it won’t be recognized as a turkey anymore. This could be anything from a superhero, a princess, a pumpkin, or even an astronaut! The possibilities are endless, and the creativity this activity brings out is always impressive.
Free Turkey Coloring Pages
To make it even easier to get started, I’ve created a set of free turkey coloring pages that you can download and print for your class. These pages serve as the starting point for the disguise activity. Just give each student a turkey template, and let them take it from there!
You can have them disguise the turkey on this blank turkey page.
Or you can have them choose one of the 14 other pictures and have them color the picture and trace the words.

Ideas for Disguises
Need some inspiration to get your students’ creative juices flowing? Here are some fun disguise ideas:
- Superheroes: Batman, Wonder Woman, or create their own superhero character.
- Movie Characters: Think Frozen’s Elsa, Harry Potter, or any character they love.
- Jobs and Professions: Doctor, astronaut, chef, or even a teacher!
- Animals: Disguise the turkey as a lion, a dog, or even a fish!
- Sports Stars: Soccer player, basketball player, or a football referee.
Encourage your students to think outside the box and come up with a disguise that’s unique!
How to Display the Turkeys
Once your students have finished their turkeys, you can display them in your classroom or add them to a bulletin board in the hallway. It’s a fantastic way to showcase their hard work and creativity for everyone to see. You could even turn it into a class voting game and have students vote on the most creative, funniest, or most clever disguise!
