Homemade Applesauce
Today we made homemade applesauce in the crockpot. It smelled SO delicious and tasted SO yummy! I will definitely be making this again. It’s also a fun activity to do with your little one.
Here are the ingredients:
4 apples (I used 3 Gala and 1 Honeycrisp)
Juice from 1 lemon
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 T brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1st step: Peel the apples. I peeled the apples and Troy cleaned up the scraps 🙂
Next, core the apples. I used a Pampered Chef corer.
Troy helped push the corer through. He thought it was pretty neat to see the core come out and look/count all the seeds.
Cut the apples up. Then dump everything in a crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours.
Troy enjoyed dumping everything in and checking to see if it was ready.
After six hours, mash it up with a fork and enjoy! It makes about 3 cups. It was seriously SO delicious and made the house smell glorious!
Both kids ate a lot. Here’s Wes after eating. He was happy!
My hubby said it tastes like warm apple pie and I would have to agree! YUM-O!
I love all the ideas I get from you, but I would like to be able to print them without all the pictures.
