by Angela Thayer 1 Comment

Yesterday I shared our caterpillar and butterfly crafts. Today I am sharing our Feed the Caterpillar Activity, which is a great activity for toddlers. In The Very Hungry Caterpillar book, the caterpillar is so hungry that he eats 1 apple, 2 pears, 3 plums, 4 strawberries, and 5 oranges and then he eats a bunch of junk food before finishing off with a big green leaf. In this activity, the child will feed fruit (foam pieces) to the caterpillar. This is a good movement activity and … [Read more...]

A wise old click beetle teaches him how to flip through the air the next day, but the clumsy beetle keeps trying to show off to all the other creatures that walk by and flips too much and lands … [Read more...]

The Very Quiet Cricket {Preschool Activity}

by Angela Thayer 6 Comments

This week we are continuing our unit on bugs and using Eric Carle's books for our activities. I just love his books. Kids gravitate to them because of the neat pictures and catchy stories. Today I'm sharing a preschool activity that goes along with the book, The Very Quiet Cricket. This book is about a baby cricket trying to greet others with a chirp, but cannot. He runs into lots of other insects, and they all can do something special, but this cricket doesn't think he can do anything. It's … [Read more...]
