Do you ever struggle with what to make for dinner? Or is it hard for you to find recipes that are kid-friendly AND healthy? My husband and I enjoy eating healthy, but my kids don't always love what we make. We do have them eat what we eat, but sometimes it's really great to make an easy, kid-friendly meal. Today I'm sharing 10 of our favorite recipes. 1. Chicken Pocket One of my favorite dinners as a kid was chicken pockets. They are warm, delicious, and a cinch to make! You can find … [Read more...]

A Day in the Life of Teaching Mama

by Angela Thayer 14 Comments

I've had some requests lately to share a "day in the life" post to show what our life with three boys look like. So today, I'm sharing what a full day looks like at our house. It's nothing glamorous and it may not even interest you, but to those who have asked, here it is! I decided to document our whole day on Monday via pictures on my iPhone. Not the best quality, but I always have it with me. Mondays are pretty typical, but a little busy in the morning. I'm sharing our real day and nothing is … [Read more...]

There’s Not Enough Time in a Day…

by Angela Thayer 2 Comments

I don't know about you, but lately I feel like there's not enough time in a day to accomplish it all! Life with a newborn is exhausting. We have a good baby, which is awesome! But nursing every two hours, changing lots of diapers, rocking, soothing, and caring for a newborn is a lot! Add in two busy big boys and it's a recipe for exhaustion. Whew! Lincoln is 5 weeks old. We aren't on a very consistent schedule yet, but thankfully he got his days and nights turned back around. We are so in … [Read more...]

Introducing Our Newest Blessing

by Angela Thayer 18 Comments

Our hearts are filled with joy to introduce the newest blessing to our family. Baby Lincoln entered the world on Friday and our hearts are exploding with love for this sweet little one. I can't even begin to express how thankful and blessed we feel to have a healthy baby boy. God is so good. I always love hearing birth stories, so I thought I would share a little bit about how Lincoln entered the world. My original due date was July 22nd, but after a couple ultrasounds, they decided to … [Read more...]

Thoughts on Turning 30!

by Angela Thayer 30 Comments

Today I've reached a new milestone---I am now 30! I really don't like drawing attention to my birthday, but since turning 30 feels like a big deal, I wanted to blog about it. Now I realize to some of my readers that may seem young. And yes, I know that it is. But it feels weird that I am no longer in my twenties. I completely feel like I'm still 22---but alas, I am now 30. And feel very blessed. I was going through photos and realized how much has happened in my twenties. So just for fun … [Read more...]

Happy Mother’s Day…from a non-supermom!

by Angela Thayer 18 Comments

Hey all! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there!! Hope you have an extra special day. Today, I am doing something a little bit different on the blog. I am going to show you and prove to you (via pictures) that I am a real-life, messy mom! Some of you may think I have it all together from reading my blog, or that my house is always organized (especially since I just posted this post on our preschool room)...but that is not true. And I want to encourage you today...that if you feel like you … [Read more...]

10 Bible Verses for Pregnancy

by Angela Thayer 79 Comments

I love babies...but to be really honest, I don’t love being pregnant. I wish I could say I did. I know many woman who feel their best while they are pregnant. But that’s not me. I am always really sick for the first 20 weeks, then I get heartburn, feel very uncomfortable, and really don’t feel like myself. Then there is the labor part. Not really looking forward to that! So pregnancy tends to be a stretching time for me. As I was having a rough day recently, I decided to go through Scripture and … [Read more...]

Gender Reveal Volcano!!

by Angela Thayer 20 Comments

We found out our baby's gender yesterday!! My husband and I got to have a little date in the ultrasound room! It is so special to spend that time with him and be able to take our first peek at our little baby. I am amazed at all that we can see during and ultrasound. Technology is wonderful! After we found out the baby's gender, we wanted to share the news with our boys in a special way. So I came up with a Gender Reveal Volcano! For this activity, I placed playdough around a bottle and put … [Read more...]

5 Tips to Help Your Kids Drink More Water

by Angela Thayer 11 Comments

I have a confession. My kids don't love water. They drink it, but it is never their first choice. Let me be the first to say that I am not proud of this! In fact, I wish I could go back in time and change this. As toddlers, my kids did like water. But then we introduced watered-down juice. I don't blame them for preferring the sweet taste of juice over water. However, as parents we gave in and offered them more juice or milk than we did water. I noticed a month ago (when I was struggling with … [Read more...]

Waiting for God to Answer

by Angela Thayer 24 Comments

Today I'm taking a break from sharing kid activities to share what's on my heart. It's something that I feel led to share with you! We all have something in our lives that requires us to wait. Sometimes it's something simple, like waiting for the power to come back on (like we did last night during a blizzard). Other times, it's something major -- a diagnosis or waiting for a cure. Maybe it's waiting for a future spouse, getting pregnant, or even just to have a good friend. A lot of times, we … [Read more...]
