    OMG when I saw this it took me back to my childhood days when we suspended a blanket over clotheslines. My granddaughter is spreading blankets over chairs, tables, couches, etc. I would love to be able to offer her the opportunity to build her own.

    Not only am I a Montessori Guide for primary aged children, but I also had a second job working for Lakeshore learning store. I loved their thoughtful way of considering the developmental needs of the child. I also learned the original owners had a background in Montessori. You can see so many of their materials were developed for the child and how they learn.

    We live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our winters are cold and long. My babies (4 and 2) love to build forts, but usually, this is done under our kitchen table which makes it difficult for much else to happen in that space for a few days. I love the idea of these fort builders so we could move our fort fun to other spaces of the house when it is too cold to be outside for long!

  35. I’m sure this is a long shot given how many followers you have, but wanted to share that my students LOVE Lakeshore’s Alphabots (and number bots). Working with PreK they are so engaged with small manipulatives and work on those fine motor skills with those neat toys. I’d love to add the alphabet locks to our classroom too as we enjoy those number locks!

    I haven’t created a wish list yet but as a middle school speech therapist I would choose language based activities to build vocabulary (especially multiple meaning words) and creating complex sentences. These are all skills that my students are working on and Lakeshore Learning materials would help them immensely.

  64. We got two of the fort builder sets last year for Christmas and our kids LOVE them, they still play with them often. This year, we just got their catalog and the kids have quite the wishlists, but we’re most excited about their woodworking sets! So cool!

    1. I love the fort builder. My kids have been stuck with couch pillows for now and they fall constantly which just makes everybody upset. So that would be a perfect addition to our play

  266. I’m obsessed with fun open ended toys! We removed all of our electronic toys and are in the process of replacing them with open ended toys like blocks, puzzles, and we build a ton of tents and forts! This is awesome!
