It's September, which means it's apple season! We will be doing a lot of apple activities this month for preschool. One new activity we just did was making and playing with apple-scented slime! Toddler Tuesday: Stamping with Apples
I love Toddler Tuesdays! It is so fun coming up with ideas for my toddler. This week we are doing an apple theme, so I decided to do some apple stamping with my kids. Last year, we did this stamping activity and it was a hit. This year, I wanted to do something a little different. To start off, I sliced 3 apple into slices that were about a 1/2 inch thick. Then I took a pampered chef fruit cutter and cut out 4 shapes: heart, flower, triangle, and square. You could also use small cookie … [Read more...]
Apple Sensory Bin {With Free Printable}
I absolutely love fall and am excited to start doing some fall activities with my boys. Although it will be blazing hot out this week in our town (highs in the 90s and 100s!), I thought it would be fun to start doing some apple activities. To start our apple unit, we created an apple sensory bin. In this bin, I put dry oatmeal, plastic apples, and a few acorns that are buried. I bought the plastic apples at Michael's Craft Store. They come in a pack of 20 for $6.99. I know it is kind of … [Read more...]
Apple Paper Plate
Today's activity was making an apple out of a paper plate. Troy was super excited to paint this morning. He painted several paper plates different colors. Then once it dried, we cut it out to look like an apple. Next, we added a brown stem and a worm sticking out. (I just cut a slit and put the worm through) Here's the finished product! Troy likes taking the worm out and putting it back in, which is great for working on his fine motor skills! … [Read more...]
Apple Sorting & Graphing
Today's activity is sorting and graphing apples. Don't those apples look delicious?! I got out this mat and with chalk drew the three shapes. Then I gave Troy the invitation to play with the apples and do whatever he'd like with them. I was interested to see what he would do. He did what I thought he would do. He sorted them so each shape had 1 color of apple. I thought he would sort all of the apples, but he wanted to line them up on the line … [Read more...]

Apple Painting
Today we painted with apples using finger paint! I cut 2 apples and we used the halve to stamp and paint. Before painting, we talked about the parts of the apple. Troy had fun, but the apples were a little bit slippery for his little hands. When I do it again, I will put a fork into the apple and let him hold the handle of the fork. Then we just started painting with our hands. When little brother woke up, he joined in the fun. He was really into … [Read more...]
