It’s no secret that being a mom is a busy job. One thing I’ve learned as a mom is that you are constantly multi-tasking. The more kids you add in, the more you multi-task!! Sometimes I take short cuts to make life easier. Today I’m confessing some of the short cuts I take!
1. Paper Plates
When I just can’t do any more dishes, I whip out the paper plates. They are easy for clean up. I don’t do this very often because I don’t really like paper waste, but I do use them on days when I need a break from cleaning!
2. Shower Cleaning
I clean the shower when I’m in the shower! It’s just one less chore I need to get done.
3. Water Bottles
I bought my kids water bottles that they use all day and night to drink water. I got SO tired of finding cups for them to fill up, so I bought some nice bottles and they are only used for water. I fill up water for them when they need it and it’s their responsibility to keep track of the bottle.
4. Exercise with the Kids
I can’t always get to the gym, so I exercise with the kids! We’ll do races, jumping jacks, yoga, and even wrestle with each other. Just a simple way to stay fit.
5. Shortening a Book
Sometimes when I really need to get the kids to bed, I’ll shorten the book we are reading and summarize the words on the page. 🙂 Please tell me you do this, too!
6. Fruit in the Fridge
I always keep freshly washed fruit in our drawers in the fridge. That way my kids can get their own snacks when I give them permission. I love that I don’t have to get it for them and they are learning to be responsible.
7. Photo Albums
With my oldest, I made the cutest baby book for his first year. I quickly realized that I don’t have time for this now that I have three kids. Now I create baby books for them on Shutterfly and just get them printed. I don’t like the look quite as much, but at least I get it done!
Laundry is never-ending! I don’t always sort out by color and whites, and I will take a short cut by throwing in a color catcher sheet and washing all the clothes together.
9. Rotisserie Chicken
I frequently buy rotisserie chickens at the store to use in recipes or for an easy dinner!
10. Mott’s Applesauce Pouches
I love grabbing Mott’s® Snack & Go applesauce pouches before we head out the door for my kids to snack on. It’s all ready to go and I don’t have to spend time preparing the snack. It’s easy and nutritious and my kids LOVE this snack! Watch this hilarious video…if you’ve ever tried to be the “Pinterest” mom, you’ll find this especially funny!
